Elli Milan & Dimitra Milan-Dunn

Legend has it that Elli Milan’s journey as an artist began after she had a revelation in high school. A guest speaker at her school changed her life forever. 

This speaker taught her how to activate her right brain and this opened the door to the creative realm for Elli. She started creating with a love and zeal for the visual arts. Incredibly, Elli had been incapable of painting or drawing anything prior to this encounter.

After her high school education ended, Elli attended Savannah College of Art and Design and then, later transferred to the University of Georgia, where she received her BFA. Since then, she has maintained a successful career as a professional artist for over 24 years and has sold over 10,000 pieces of original art. 

Elli is married to artist John Milan. Together they have raised four artist children. Their family of professional artists was the foundation on which they built Milan Art Institute. The Milans later added to their art family by recruiting a team of exceptional and talented individuals who have helped expand the vision of the school. 

Elli Milan is passionate about empowering artists. Her powerful art inspires artists around the world to step into their true potential. She has changed the lives of over a thousand artists, helping them find their voice, and turn their passion for art into a profession. 

She is a leading voice of the current Art Renaissance. Elli Milan has dedicated her life to transforming our world into a prosperous atmosphere for artists everywhere.

A celebrated artist by the age of 15, Dimitra Milan’s extraordinary paintings can be found in private collections across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Born into a family of established artists, Dimitra began developing her style and artistic abilities by the age of twelve.

Dimitra studied art at the Milan Art Institute, which was founded by her parents, Elli and John Milan. Now, she is a co-owner of Milan Art Institute, and an instructor herself. 

Her paintings are described as abstract realism, with romantic elements. They portray a dreamy atmosphere where anything is possible. Her artwork is layered with symbolism, often provoking deep emotions. Dimitra expresses love, hope, authenticity, and beauty through her brushstrokes. 

She draws inspiration from her dreams she has at night. As Van Gogh once said, “I paint my dreams, and I dream my paintings.”

Giving back to charitable causes continues to be an important part of Dimitra’s work as an emerging artist. Her paintings are regularly donated to non-profit organizations that advocate against human trafficking and  aid families and children with cancer. 

Dimitra currently lives in Georgia with her family and travels regularly to Greece and other international destinations to experience the world and gain new inspirations. When Dimitra isn’t traveling, she can be found at home either painting in her studio or riding her horse in the picturesque landscapes of the American Southeast.
